Directions
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush an 8-inch square baking dish with 1 tablespoon of the melted butter.
Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, white sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the softened butter and mix with your fingers until the mixture resembles sand.
Pour the milk into the flour-butter mixture and stir with a rubber spatula until a soft dough forms.
Turn the dough out onto a well-floured surface and roll it into a 10 x 10-inch square. Brush the dough with the remaining 2 tablespoons of melted butter.
Prepare the filling: In a small bowl, whisk together the white sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of the cinnamon-sugar mixture in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture over the butter-brushed dough.
Roll the dough into a log and cut it into 9 rolls, each about 1-inch wide. Place the rolls, cut-side up, in the prepared baking dish
Bake in the preheated oven until the rolls are puffed and lightly golden, 20 to 25 minutes
Prepare the frosting: In a bowl, beat together the icing sugar, cream cheese, softened butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Top the hot cinnamon rolls with the cream cheese frosting. Enjoy your cinnamon rolls!
